Those links are called Cards by Brave, and you can hide individual ones by selecting Edit Cards at the bottom. Binance, FTX,, and Gemini are all cryptocurrency-related sources. For example, if you select, that information will populate where the Brave Rewards info is in the example above. That box on the right with the link at the top that says FTX lets you toggle between what you want to show in the bigger space below. By scrolling down on the dashboard, you can see news stories that continue to populate as you scroll.
On the top-left, you can see stats for how effective the browser’s been at blocking ads and trackers and saving bandwidth and time. This is what the default dashboard of the browser looks like. This only happened after my most recent Windows update which was like 2-3 days ago. I have tried switching accounts to no avail. I have both Chrome Browser and Brave browser (both running on Chromium) that experience the lagging.Run virus checks from both malwarebytes and Mcaffee (nothing found).Uninstalled my extensions (EXCEPT 1 SEE ANSWER).I only mention these two sites because these are the only two sites I use that have problems so far. However: Microsoft Edge has no problem on YouTube or Reddit. When I type a comment, I have to wait 2 seconds before it activates the comment box, and when I type a comment it staggers my letters. When I press the space bar to pause a video, it takes 2 seconds before it pauses the video. When I hover over a video to pause it, my mouse takes about 2 seconds before it turns into a pointer cursor. It's not slow internet speed, but rather lagging. Specific websites, namely YouTube and Reddit are lagging for me.
